2021 was a good year for Big Mummy.
It was the year I needed. It was the first year since 2014 that I didn’t have to pretend. I didn’t have to hide. I didn’t have to be unsure of myself.
2021 was the year I rediscovered Todimu. Todimu the intelligent woman. Todimu the clown. Todimu the avid reader. Todimu the babe. Todimu who loves to sleep. Todimu who loves to eat.
I also met new versions of Todimu. Todimu the assertive. Todimu the confident. Todimu the bitch — lol that’s a lie, I never lost contact with that Todimu.
If you know me personally, you know 2014 to 2020 was a rollercoaster. From getting assaulted. To having to start uni all over again. To my numerous bouts with illnesses. To cancer in my family. To living away from my siblings. To living away from my best friends. It has been one thing after another.
But I’m still here. Standing. Breathing. Living. Achieving.
I am looking forward to more introductions to the different versions of Todimu this year. I am looking forward to more. Breathing. Living. Achieving.
